The President , Dental Council of India , Dr. Dibyendu Mazumder in a landmark decision by Directive Number DE-130-2015/ 18351 dated 30th March 2016 opened the doors of all 309 dental colleges in the country and took access to oral health care for our athletes to a new height. Our athletes can now avail free of charge dental treatment consisting of oral prophylaxis, extractions, restorations etc. and all oral healthcare in any dental college in the country. Directive
Dental Council of India is a statutory body entrusted with Maintenance of uniform standards of Dental Education – both at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels, bringing all Private and Government Dental colleges within its purview.
The Area Directors of all the States were provided a copy of this directive along with the names, address and contact details of the Deans/Principals of all the dental colleges in the country. This information is for dissemination to all the coaches/ athletes and caregivers to ensure implementation to benefit the oral health status of our athletes. Simultaneously a list of SO Bharat Athlete distribution district wise has been circulated to the Deans of the colleges located in their respective States.
