Yashika Bhat is the assistant manager for Communications and youth initiatives at SO Bharat. She joined the organization in a full capacity of National staff in April 2024 after having volunteered as the National Youth Leadership Council member since 2020.  

She is a silver medalist in Basketball at the Special Olympics World Summer Games held in Abu Dhabi , UAE in 2019.When  in school, she could not read the blackboard and could not memorize lessons. When her journey in Special Olympics started ,she discovered her talent in sports. Sports made her happy. “I never imagined that I would play for India , that too win a medal”, says Yashika.

She started to speak at events with her unified buddy, and interacted inclusively, becoming an Athlete leader. “Although I know that my speech is not very clear but, that does not break my confidence to speak, interact and excel”, says Yashika.
