Dr Goswami has served as lecturer in various colleges and training centers, delivering to a wide range of trainees from the Aanganwadi workers to students of colleges and institutes of high repute like the Tata Institute of Social Science, Guwahati. She completed her PHd from the Guwahati University in a Study on the Effectiveness of Psycho Education of Families in the Management of Persons with Major Mental Disorders. She founded the Ashadeep Society , a Mental Health Society and is currently a trustee member with SO Bharat along with serving the SO Bharat Assam chapter as Area Director.

She has created a niche for herself in the field of Mental health through authoring books, directing short films and writing for the local daily as well. Her steadfast endeavors in the field have brought her many accolades including the ‘Outstanding Woman Award’ by the National Women’s Commission for services towards women & children in 2012, the Derozio Award for her contribution to human enrichment, in 2014
